Maharaja Shri Sir Jitendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur KCSI, who lived from December 20, 1886, to December 20, 1922, served as the Maharaja of Cooch-Behar, India, from September 1913 until his passing in December 1922.
Jitendra Narayan was the second son of Nripendra Narayan and Suniti Devi from Cooch Behar. He had a younger brother, Victor Nitindra Narayan Bhup Bahadur, who was the third son of Maharaja Nripendra Narayan and Maharani Suniti Devi. Jitendra married Indira Raje, daughter of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III and Maharani Chimnabai of Baroda State. At the time they met, Indira was betrothed to Madho Rao Scindia, Maharaja of Gwalior, which made their elopement shocking to both families. As the younger son, Jitendra was not initially seen as a contender for the throne. He went on to have two sons, Jagaddipendra Narayan and Indrajitendra Narayan, as well as three daughters: Ila Devi, Gayatri Devi.
