Jagaddipendra, the first child of the then Maharaja Jitendra Narayan of Cooch Behar and Maharani Indira Devi, was born on 15 December 1915. On December 15, 1915, Jagaddipendra, the first child of the then Maharaja Jitendra Narayan of Cooch Behar and Maharani Indira Devi, was born. When he was seven years old, his father died. After that, he ascended the throne at that age.But being a minor, Rajmata Indira Devi, as guardian, was in charge of running the administration..

Jagaddipendra went abroad for education. Educated first at St. Centurion's School in East Bort, England, then at Harrow and later at Trinity College, Cambridge University. After returning home, he completed his studies at the Army Academy and joined the Indian Army.After completing the age of 22, in 1936, he got the power of governance.

Jagaddipendra joined the British in World War II. He was a trained pilot. He also had his own plane. He joined the war with that. India became independent on August 15, 1947. Despite that, Jagaddipendra was an independent king of Cooch Behar.On 12 August 1949, Jagaddipendra annexed Cooch Behar to the United States of India while still on the throne.

Rajpat is no more today. The king is not alive. But Jagaddipendra still occupies a special place in the hearts of the people of Cooch Behar. The people of Cooch Behar still remember his contribution. Jagaddipendra was the patron of education, arts, culture, and sports.During his time, various schools and hospitals were built in Cooch Behar, which are still the hope of common people.

Jagaddipendra was also a sports lover. He was also the captain of the Bengal Ranji team from 1943 to 1944. He also built Kotbihar District Sports Association Haish Coochbehar Airport, which was earlier a polo ground, under his initiative. He was also good at playing polo.It was during his time that the North Bengal State Transport Corporation was created, initially named Cooch Behar State Motors.

In 1970, Jagadipendra was injured while playing polo in Kolkata. He died on April 11 that year. Although married twice, the first child died a few days after birth. Jagaddipendra was childless at the time of his death.Jaipur's Rajmata Maharani Gayatri Devi, whose beauty is renowned both at home and abroad, was Jagaddipendra's sister. Gayatri Devi's autobiography repeatedly mentions Jagaddipendra.
