Rajendranarayana, second eldest brother of Dhairyendranarayana, was installed on the throne with Bhutanese support, but only ruled for 2 years until his death in 1772. His coins are readily identifiable, as they have a cross to the right of the letter ‘ndra’, rather than the normal dot. Interestingly, sometime this cross is defaced by a small circular countermark making it look like a dot. Rajendranarayana was a king without power while Bhutan’s representative Pensutma was all powerful. In 1772, the died following a fever, heirless.
